International Transgender Day of Visibility 2025

31st of March 2025

Welcome to The Therapy Pages!

This is a space for reflection, growth, and meaningful conversations. Here, I explore mental health, healing, and the journey toward well-being—one page at a time. Whether you're seeking insight, support, or just a moment of calm, I’m glad you’re here.

Introduction

Today is all about promoting the voices of our Transgender (Trans) and Non-Binary (Enby) peers. As an ally of the Trans and Enby community, I believe it’s important to continue learning how to uplift and amplify the community’s voices. The more allies promote Trans voices, the more normalised the Trans and Enby experience can become within our society and communities.

I hope this post contributes to the conversation about amplifying Trans and Enby voices, creating more spaces where they feel heard, empowered, and safe. More than anything, I hope you focus on their words rather than mine.

Meet Wednesday 👋

I’ve followed Wednesday on Social Media for a while now. Initially, I was drawn to their work because of the vibrant colours and the compassionate message within their art. Over time, I have felt grateful to learn from them and watch Wednesday grow into their identity through their vulnerable way of sharing their story and how they express themselves in their art with such richness. Here is how Wednesday introduces themselves on Instagram.

“Hi! I’m Wednesday!

I’m an illustrator, author and Queer community worker. I make bright, hope-filled work to bring people together and lift them up! Through my work, I aim to bring topics such as gender diversity, community care, mental health, sobriety and Queer love into the light. I’m also deeply interested in nature and the complexities of existence, so you’ll see these thoughts alive in my work!”

Meet Jamie 👋

I came across Jamie during my research to find upcoming artists in Scotland to feature in my post today. I feel inspired by Jamie’s art through his expression of what it is like to “finally feel like the person he's meant to be.” I feel especially drawn to his portrayal of “inner child” and mental health. To me, his work is relatable on a human-experience level, poetic in the message being delivered while also drawing you in and causing you to ask what this means for you and, for him. Here’s how Jamie describes himself on his website

“Jamie O’Donnell (he/him, b.1998) is an interdisciplinary artist from Tayport in Fife, currently based in Renfrewshire, Scotland. His practice explores the topics of the trans experience, mental health, and growing up. O’Donnell’s work embodies his experience of finding his voice and aligning himself to how he’s always felt on the inside. O’Donnell hopes the viewer will see themselves in the work and learn something new about themselves.”

Meet Milo 👋

Milo Clenshaw is an Author based in Scotland. Milo has collaborated with his Co-Author Vicky Allan, together identifying as Milo Allan, to write a Queer historical fiction based on a true story. This story sounds like it will follow a reclaiming of a historical narrative. I’m excited to read this when it’s out next month, April 2025. Here is a bit about the book itself:

“It is 1901, and Dr Gallagher has just pronounced Murray Hall dead. New York politico, gambler, womaniser - Hall is all these things, but when the press break the news of his death to the world, they reveal a side to his identity he never wanted known, a secret no one could have guessed…” Click here to find out more.

Here’s what Milo says about the book

“If transness has been written out of the history books, then it is our right to write it back in. After all, all histories are subjective narratives in some form – it just depends on whose authority you choose to believe.”

How am I getting involved?

This year I’m purchasing from the creators I have shared, and I’m attending the TDoV seminar. By doing this, I’m showing my support to the Trans and Enby community and educating myself more on the Trans and Enby experience. This isn’t just about today however, it’s important to continue promoting the Trans community voices where I can.

If you’re an ally of the Trans community, I wonder what you might like to do to promote Trans Voices more. If you are Trans or Enby, I hope you feel more seen and heard today and more each day after.

Hi 👋 I’m Kelly

Meet the Face behind the Blog

I’m a Counsellor & Psychotherapist. I find passion in helping others navigate their complex family relationships, estrangement and all the layers that come with these experiences. I have personal experience in most areas I work and find this adds depth to the relationships my clients and I build.

Outside of work, I love escaping to other worlds through reading. I’m a cat lover and find the most joy in my life when it feels settled, quiet and slow-paced.
